husband Tom Bugby founded Monique Lhuillier, a wedding dress brand in 1996.
They did not open the first boutique in Los Angels until four years after that.
In the later 12 years, the husband and wife made and tailored clothes in the
small shop. They did not made any outdoor advertisement and buy any medium
publicity. They offered no door-to-door service. All the customers who wanted
to purchase wedding dress or evening dress must accommodate the designer; no
matter they were celebrity or the first lady. So they have to fly to Los Angels
by their own to try on, change and take their clothes. If you don’t have the

“I know many girls will be my repeat guests, this is my confidence
in my own brand”, said Monique Lhuillie. She never disappointed the woman who
walked into her shop, because she had enough sense that public praise was
better than any empty advertisement.
